Approaching launch
A menu bar time tracker for the Mac, for people who work for several clients.
Tock sits in the macOS menu bar and keeps track of what is being worked on right now, how long it has taken today, and what that time is worth. Several timers can run at once, and each project carries its own billing rule — hourly, capped, prepaid, a retainer or a fixed fee — so a report for a client adds up without a spreadsheet.
A command line tool works on the same data as the app, and Claude Code can record the time of its own sessions, kept apart from yours unless you choose to count it.
Tock is our first product. It is in daily use here and is being prepared for release; it is not available to download yet.

Buddy
In testing
A household organizer that lives in the chat app you already use.
Send Buddy a voice note on the walk home, a photo of a school letter, a PDF from the plumber, or just type — in a normal chat, the way you would message anyone else. It turns them into lists, reminders and memories the household can come back to later.
The scope is deliberate. Buddy organizes a household, and declines the things outside that boundary rather than trying to be useful at everything. It is in private testing and not open to the public yet.

A reader-first markdown viewer for the terminal.
A single Rust binary that renders markdown properly in a terminal, plus a thin Neovim plugin that makes it the default way to read .md files. Open a document and you get the rendered view; one keystroke swaps to the raw editable buffer at the same line, and one takes you back.
It is built around fidelity on real documents, a cold open under 100ms, and refreshing itself while files change underneath you. The source is public and builds today; there is no packaged release yet.

How we build
Ship Ideas is one person’s company, and Claude, Anthropic’s AI model, is part of how the work gets done. We use it every day, mostly through Claude Code, to plan changes, write and review code, write tests and check documentation against what the code really does. What gets built is decided by a person, and so is what ships.
Using Claude to build software is not the same as putting it inside the software. Tock has no AI model in it; it only lets a tool such as Claude Code write down the time of its own sessions. Buddy is the one product here that uses a model while it runs: Claude, through Anthropic’s API, is how it reads the messages a household sends.

Company
Ship Ideas designs, develops, and maintains software with a clear purpose. Our approach is simple: solve a specific problem well, keep the experience straightforward, and build products people can depend on.
Software that does one thing and says no to the rest is easier to trust than software that tries to do everything, so a good deal of the work is deciding what to leave out. The aim is software that starts fast, stays out of the way, and does not need to be learned twice.
Ship Ideas is the name SHP Ideas, LLC works under. The company is owned and run by its founder, Basit Anwer, and pays its own way: it has taken no outside funding.
